A submarine of Indonesian Navy got lost and Indian navy extended its support in search and rescue operations through its deep submergence rescue vessel.
Deep submergence rescue vessel:
Indian navy DSRV system is the latest in terms of state of art technology.
It is being supplied by James Fisher Defence, United Kingdom.
They are based on the Western and Eastern coast of India.
It has the potential to locate a submarine up to 1,000-metre depth utilising its state-of-the-art side scan sonar and remotely operated vehicle.
International Submarine Escape and Rescue Liaison Office (ISMERLO):
It is an international organisation being set up by NATO.
It aims to facilitate an international response for a distressed submarine. It further works for improvement of the ability to respond to a call for assistance through coordination.
Despite the fact that it is being set up by the NATO countries, it caters to the needs of all countries.
It is a military organisation with humanitarian objectives.
